    Pension Valuation

The purpose of our pension valuations is to establish a value for a pension, so that the parties involved may divide the retirement benefits using the Immediate Offset Method. The Immediate Offset Method simply compares the value of a pension to the value of other marital property that can be divided. In many divorce cases, the employee end’s up keeping the pension, and the non-employee spouse will receive other assets of equal value, in lieu of the employee’s interest in the pension.

Through our projections we can determine the present value of a pension based upon the employees age, accrued benefit and the terms and conditions of a given plan. All of our pension valuations comply with the requirements of the Actuarial Standards of Practice No. 34. Over the last 20 years we have performed over 6,000 pension valuations. Divorce Financial Solutions, LLC also advises in negotiating and drafting property settlement agreements with respect to pension benefits and provide language to use in the MSA consistent with those negotiations. Through our analysis we can provide a comparison of alternatives regarding the immediate offset method versus deferred distributions schemes.

Our Pension Valuations are drafted and reviewed by credentialed experts with years of experience. In order to expedite your Pension Valuation please download, complete, and return our Retirement Account Authorization Form by fax or mail. Once the form is returned you will receive your Pension Valuation within 2-3 business days. Please call us if you need assistance. Click the link to download the form.
