Mediation is a voluntary dispute resolution process
where conflicting parties work together with an impartial person,
to resolve a conflict in a mutually beneficial way. Your neutral third party facilitates the resolution of
disputes and assists the parties in reaching an agreement. A mediator impedes communication, promotes understanding, focuses the parties on their interests, and assists them in
making informed decisions. A mediator does not make decisions for you or impose
settlements. They are simply there to serve as a neutral and help you resolve your divorce
case by providing solutions and leaving the decision making power in the hands
of the divorcing couple.
Mediation can be a low-cost alternative rather than determining the outcome of your
divorce through the win-lose process of lawyers and sometimes seemingly endless squabbles.
Our primary role is to translate, educate, create and
help negotiate by providing creative solutions and letting you determine the
outcome. The issues that would traditionally be dealt with in two separate attorney offices, can be negotiated at one table, by both spouses through
a mediator.
Through our experience as mediators, we have found that the individual voices of both
the husband and wife are listened too and respected during this
process. Issues such as child support, maintenance, division of retirement accounts, pension rights, tax benefits, etc. are determined by the
divorcing couple. This allows the parties (whom are most effected by a divorce)
to determine their financial future rather than
a judge.
Our financial mediators have obtained the 40-hour divorce mediation training necessary to maintain a successful
practice. Mediation can save time, legal fees and enables you to determine your settlement, instead of the
courts. If you would like to discuss this process and how it could potentially be advantageous to your divorce predicament, call today.
